1 Appellant, Alvin M. Millisock, appeals from the judgment of sentence entered in the Lancaster County Court of Common Pleas, following his guilty plea to three counts each of aggravated assault and simple assault, and one count each of resisting arrest, obstructing administration of law and disorderly conduct. In addition, Appellants counsel has filed an Anders brief and a petition for leave to withdraw as counsel. We conclude that counsels petition to withdraw is deficient and, therefore, deny the motion and remand with instructions. We believe that Appellants notice of appeal may have been untimely, in which case we would be constrained to quash his appeal, but we have insufficient information upon which to base a conclusion. (See discussion infra). Finally, both to ensure proper notification to the client of that clients rights upon the filing of an Anders brief and to facilitate appellate review, we hold that counsel must attach as an exhibit to the petition to withdraw filed with this Court a copy of the letter sent to counsels client giving notice of the clients rights.
